Sydney began her professional career as a nanny and childcare provider and over the last 20+ years has served children, youth and families in numerous capacities including Montessori educator, family support worker, and parent coach. She holds a Sociology B.A., carries certifications as a Birth and Postpartum Doula and Breastfeeding Educator. She is also a Certified Montessori Early Childhood and Montessori Parent-Infant Educator.
She was drawn to doula work in 2020 and in her practice specializes in emotional support for Moms, support for single and young parents, couples and former foster youth. Her extensive knowledge and expertise in navigating social resources and supports, enhances her mission to encourage family voice and choice in decision making, from onset of pregnancy and throughout the parenting journey.
She is currently studying traditional midwifery and herbalism and spends most of her free time with her daughter, enjoying the arts and volunteering in the community.
