Apply for a Childbirth Education Grant

Childbirth education courses can provide you with the information and resources you and your family need to make informed decisions during pregnancy and childbirth. Informed decision-making is crucial to an empowered birth experience.

Here are a few of the research-based benefits of attending an antenatal childbirth education course:

  • Decreased levels of fear of childbirth
  • Increased partner involvement in pregnancy and birth
  • Increased rates of vaginal birth
  • Increased rates of breastfeeding
  • Improved communication between care provider and patient

Education is also key to a safe and empowered birth experience.  The Omaha area is home to many different styles of childbirth education. These different styles allow for a family to choose the form of education best suited for their needs and birth desires. Proper education has the potential to influence not only their births but future generations as well. Omaha Better Birth Project provides grants for childbirth education courses to low-income and teen families in the Omaha area to help provide a solid foundation of information for the birthing families.
